No matter how experienced or careful you are,
your equipment can be lost or damaged by
breakage, water, fire, vandalism, lightning or more
commonly - theft! You’d be out a great deal
of money if your equipment was stolen, lost or
damaged. And you can’t rely on your renter’s insurance to help you out. When your
equipment is part of your business, it probably won’t
be covered by homeowner’s or renter’s insurance on
or off premises.
The Professional Photographers of America "Special-Risk" Photography Equipment Insurance Program
is just the type of protection each professional
photographer can count on . . . it covers everything
you own from cameras, computers, lenses,
meters . . . to video tape equipment - right down
to your camera bag and film. And you're covered
no matter where you go . . . up to the scheduled
value of your equipment.
The best part: This "Special-Risk" Program is available to
you at a very reasonable cost. Don't leave your
expensive investment to chance . . . protect it with
the PPA "Special-Risk" Photography Equipment
Insurance Program.
Your first $15,000 of equipment: $2.40 per $100 value
Over $15,000 of equipment: $1.75 per $100 value
NOTE: Minimum premium is $25. Total values in
excess of $100,000 must be submitted for individual analysis,
and acceptance may be subject to additional information.
There is no limit to the amount you can apply for. Coverage
will become effective for $100,000 or more upon approval by
the underwriting company. Program is subject to a deductible
of $100 for each loss.
Now available to PPA members is an option for
Film and Video Tape Endorsement. This option added to the "Special-Risk"
Equipment Program covers the cost of a job in case
the film is damaged or lost in transit back and forth
from a developing lab.
This means that members are protected from the
time the film leaves their hands to the time the
developed materials are returned.
Because this aspect of coverage is not covered under
PPA’s self-insured indemnity plan. In addition, FedEx,
UPS, the Post Office and other delivery companies
only cover the cost of the film, not the job should it
be lost in transit. That means you, the member,
would lose money.
This option covers up to $1,000 per occurrence with
an annual policy aggregate of $3,000. This option is
only available with the PPA Equipment Program and
only costs $100 per year. This is a small fee to pay
when you think of the repercussions of losing an
entire job.
Well over $3,000,000
in claims have
been paid to PPA
members insured under the
PPA"Special-Risk" Photography
Equipment Insurance Program!
