Short Term Medical FAQs
How do I know if a Short-Term Medical plan is right for me?
What if I need help?
Can I put my premium payments on my credit card?
Do I need to take a exam?
Do I have to meet with an insurance agent?
How do I apply?
The following questions will help you determine what kind of coverage you need. Are you:
- Between jobs;
- Newly employed and waiting for your group coverage to begin;
- Graduating from college or a recent college graduate;
- A temporary or seasonal employee;
- A dependent no longer covered under your parents' plan;
- On strike, laid-off or a terminating employee;
- A part-time or temporary worker;
- Looking for a lower-cost alternative to COBRA or more comprehensive health insurance; or
- Unable to afford other coverage?
If you answered YES to any of these situations, a temporary Short-Term Medical plan may meet your health-insurance needs. If you do not fit into one of these categories, chances are you want an Individual Medical plan.
